72-year old OKC man given four years for fatally stabbing man during argument

6/9/2017 - OKC, OK -- Gary Lee Clodfelter, 72, was given four years in prison for fatally stabbing another man during a argument back in 2015.

Clodfelter was reportedly living in a residence that served as a veteran housing facility. Clodfelter's victim, was 56-year-old Darryl Eugene Hillard.

At trial, Clodfelter's attorney argued that Clodfelter acted in self defense.

According to court documents, Clodfelter became upset when he couldn't hear the television over Hillard's talking on a phone.

Clodfelter claims that Hillard became very angry at Clodfelter's protests and began striking him. Clodfelter then grabbed a knife in self-defense. Hillard suffered cuts to his knee, abdomen, forearm and hand. Hillard was taken to the hospital, but later died of his injuries.

Clodfelter was charged with first-degree murder. However, the jury only found him guilty of first-degree manslaughter.

The jury recommended a sentence of four-years.
