Oklahoma volunteer firefighter charged with arson

10/24/2017 - Durant, OK -- A volunteer Oklahoma firefighter is facing criminal charges of setting the very fires he later fought to put out.

According to court documents, James Gregg, now a former volunteer with the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department, set fires to area pastures and would then respond to them as a firefighter.

Gregg is said to have admitted to setting fires to at least two pastures back in March of this year.

Gregg has been charged with two counts of arson in the third degree.

If convicted, Gregg faces up to 30 years in prison and fines up to $20,000.
